I dedicate this blog to the 100 families I have supported so far since becoming a qualified funeral celebrant. I am so very grateful that they entrusted me to write and conduct the ceremonies for their loved ones.
I really believed becoming a funeral celebrant would be rewarding but until I was living it day to day I wasn’t truly sure… I can now say it most definitely is.
Every family I work with has different needs and wishes. Every family has its sensitivities and situations that I need to gently navigate. Every family is grieving and needs me to be calm, attentive and professional.
I have conducted funeral ceremonies for people of all ages, some deaths have been expected, some not. Some people have made their funeral wishes clear before they died, many however do not. I have also known some of the people I have taken ceremonies for which has been a privilege. There have been so many people I wish I had known.
I would like to thank the many funeral directors who have asked me to conduct funerals for their clients. When I take a ceremony for them, I am representing their company and their reputation. We are very fortunate in my area to have some very good funeral directors.
I am thinking of all those loved ones who are no longer with us and I’m sending my love to those 100 families who I had the absolute honour of supporting. You will always have a special place in my heart.
